Q-Energy has refinanced a 49.9-MW concentrated solar power (CSP) plant located in Fuente Palmera, southern Spain.
A structured loan totalling EUR 283 million (USD 335.2m) was provided to Q-Energy’s special purpose vehicle by a bank syndicate consisting of Banco Santander SA (BME:SAN), BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNP) and CaixaBank SA (BME:CABK), law firm Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) said. WFW advised the lender side in the transaction.
The refinancing operation follows Q-Energy’s acquisition and financing of a 120-MW CSP portfolio of three plants in southern Spain. The fund manager bought that portfolio from Spanish group SENER and UAE’s Masdar last year.
