Power China’s 50 MW Gonghe Tower CSP project sets a record for monthly generation

The Gonghe 50 MW solar thermal power station in Qinghai Province is located in the Eco-Solar Power Park of Gonghe County, Hainan Prefecture, Qinghai Province. It adopted the molten salt tower technology and was one of the first national demonstration projects of solar thermal power. The power station adopts 30,000 heliostat of 20 square meters and center elevation of heat absorber of 210 meters. The annual utilization hours can reach 3,138 hours, generating 156 million KWH, saving about 51,200 tons of coal consumption and reducing about 154,000 tons of carbon dioxide each year, with remarkable environmental benefits. It is of positive significance to optimize the local power structure, protect the ecological environment and solve the problem of peak regulation of local power grid.
