The Energy Transition in the Arab World

Dii Desert Energy will be hosting the 10th annual Dii Desert Energy Leadership Summit on 25-26th of November, at the Adlon Kempiski hotel in Berlin. Combined with the 10th Arab-German Energy Forum and in co-operation Ghorfa (Arab – German Chamber of Commerce), the conference will be held under the theme ‘The Energy Transition in the Arab World’. This year will be very special as both Dii Desert Energy and Ghorfa’s Energy Forum will celebrate their 10th anniversary.

In 10 years’ time Dii Desert Energy has grown from a rudimentary ‘Desertec Vision’ (initially mainly concentrated on power from the deserts for Europe, ‘Desertec 1.0’) via a focus on clean energy for the region (Desertec2.0) towards a highly recognised market enabler for ‘green electrons’ and ‘green molecules’ from the deserts of MENA for MENA’s own population and eventually as a net exporter for the global emission free energy markets (Desertec 3.0).

The combined Ghorfa – Dii event will offer a unique platform for the exchange of knowledge, strategies, experience and personal networking among an international audience from the public and private sector.
