DLR Institute of Solar Research seeks a Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering

Hiring 🚀
Do you want to contribute to a renewable energy
supply? Then the DLR Institute of Solar Research is the right place for you!
Our institute researches the utilisation of solar energy with the aim of
further reducing CO₂ emissions. In addition to CO₂-free electricity generation, the provision of sustainable process heat in energy-intensive industries is an important factor in the advancement of defossilisation.

👉 We are looking for a Master’s student in the field of mechanical engineering, energy technology, process engineering or similar (f/m/x).
🔎 The topic of the Master’s thesis is: Development of a method to detect two-phase flow patterns with a vibration sensor.

In your work, you will support our international project team in recognising the two-phase flow patterns in the absorber tubes of a linear Fresnel collector. You will work with us to develop a method that can be used to draw conclusions about the flow pattern that occurs based on measurement data from a vibration sensor. You will then analyse the measurement data from the vibrations sensor and validate the method you have developed by comparing your results with those from a second sensor.

It is starting as soon as possible in Cologne or Stuttgart and takes 6 months. We look forward to receiving your application, whether in English or German!
